Thanks to all those who showed on Feb. 5 for the Fun & Fund Raiser for Spc. Jeffery Farmer, now serving in Afghanistan. I got to talk to Spc. Farmer on satellite TV, which was very interesting, although I had trouble getting used to the three-second delay between Trenton and Afghanistan. We were at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Trenton while he was 4:30 a.m. Saturday in Afghanistan.
We raised about $6,000 to help Spc. Farmer get a new pickup truck and tools, both of which were stolen while he was overseas.
The Lookout Mountain Parkway meets Feb. 17 at Wildflower Restaurant in Mentone, Ala., at noon CST.
