Brooke Loudermilk pitched a seven-inning one-hitter and Nikki Waters followed with a five-inning two-hitter as the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga softball team improved to 4-0 in the Austin Peay Classic by defeating Butler 2-0 and the host Lady Govs 9-0 on Saturday in Clarksville.
Tiffany Baker was 3-for-3 with her fifth home run of the season and an RBI single and Tia Blosser homered and doubled in a run for the Lady Mocs (6-2) against Austin Peay, when Laci Upchurch also was 2-for-3. She, Michelle Fuzzard, Lauren Flores and pinch-hitter Jenni Martin also had RBIs in that game, when Waters (2-1) struck out six batters and walked one.
Loudermilk (3-1) had 10 strikeouts with only one walk against Butler. Flores had one of only two hits off Jenny Esparza, a two-run single after Baker walked and Upchurch reached on an error in the fourth inning.
