UK shortstop Molly Johnson knocked in all of the Wildcats’ runs, going 2-for-2 with a pair of home runs.
The Lady Mocs had their best shot to rally in the bottom of the sixth inning. Michelle Fuzzard was hit by a pitch, and Tiffany Baker doubled to put UTC base runners at second and third base, but Lacy Upchurch fouled out to end the threat.
Kaiti Kelley knocked in the Lady Mocs’ only run with a single in the bottom of the third inning to score Lyndsey Stiles.
Brooke Loudermilk took the loss for UTC (9-3), striking out seven UK batters.
