The ice and snow covering much of the Tennessee Valley this morning may not be going anywhere any time soon.
Chattanooga is expected to stay below the freezing mark today and Saturday according to forecasts from the National Weather Service.
Today’s high is expected to only reach 27 degrees followed by a low of 16 tonight. Saturday won’t be much better.
“You might get above freezing for a couple of hours Saturday but then it’s back into the teens at night,” said meteorologist Doug Schneider at the weather service office in Morristown, Tenn.
Moisture from the Ohio Valley could push more flurries or light snow showers into the Chattanooga area later today, Mr. Schneider said.
