Every year, the Unity Group sponsors several events to promote Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy of nonviolent social change. Dr. Bob Zellner will deliver the keynote address at the Unity Group’s 40th memorial service honoring the birthday of Dr. King. The program is at 5 p.m. Monday at the Tivoli Theatre, following a memorial parade from Olivet Baptist Church to the theater.
On Saturday, the Rev. Harold K. Lester, pastor of Orchard Knob Baptist Church, will speak at the prayer breakfast at Greater Tucker Baptist Church. On Sunday at New Zion Baptist Church, Anthony Pollard, Olivet Baptist Church youth minister, is the guest speaker for Dr. King’s birthday party.
