MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A body has been found in a car discovered overturned in a water-filled Memphis ditch.
Police said the vehicle was that of missing FedEx employee Jennifer Hurt, who was last seen leaving work at the end of her shift Jan. 8.
Positive identification of the body awaits a coroner’s examination.
Hurt’s father told The Commercial Appeal at the scene where his daughter’s car was found that the road was one she used on her route home, which was two miles from the crash site.
A passerby spotted the car Tuesday afternoon and called police.
At the time Hurt was driving home, roads were icy from the previous day’s snowfall and the temperature was 12 degrees.
