My child’s favorite gift this year was hands down the Leapfrog Tag Reading System, a tech toy that makes learning to read easy, fun and adventurous. My son recently began learning to read in earnest, and his Tag reader has only added fuel to the fire.
What: The Tag Reading System is basically a big fat electronic pen that reads stories to your child in their entirety, page by page or word by the word, depending on your child’s commands. The pen holds an optical reader that knows exactly what your child is pointing at on the page.
The Tag reader comes with one book in the box and has dropped in price from $49.99 to $29.99 at www.leapfrog.com. The gadget is geared toward children 4 to 8 years old, but is optimal for any child learning to read and spell.
