Robert Summar, who died Saturday, will be remembered as a good and honorable public servant in several important capacities over many years.
An Army veteran and graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville, Mr. Summar served well in Hamilton County as an assistant district attorney from 1958 till 1965.
He then became clerk and master, serving our local Chancery Court.
He became clerk of the Tennessee Court of Appeals, based in Knoxville, till his retirement.
A fine family man and active member of Ridgedale Baptist Church, Mr. Summar provided a good example of quiet, faithful and honorable public service.
