Chattanooga-based construction company EMJ Corp. will acquire Inman Construction, based in Memphis, on March 1, according to EMJ President Jay Jolley.
Inman will be renamed Inman/EMJ Construction. The move is an attempt by EMJ to diversify its construction portfolio and expand into medical, university, and public school construction at a time when those sectors are poised for growth, Mr. Jolley said.
Page Inman, who will continue to run the Memphis division of the new company, said that 2009 was the strongest year yet in the company’s 40-year history, and he looks forward to sharing resources with EMJ as they both branch out into new areas.
