We have too much crime of many kinds in our country, but we cannot really imagine what it would be like to suffer the dangers to civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan.
There are almost daily suicide bombings and other attacks that take a terrible toll among people going about their daily business.
For example, one day this week, a suicide car bomber in Baghdad, Iraq, killed 22 people.
On the same day, 14 people were injured by a car bomber in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Fighting between opposing military forces is tragic enough. But indiscriminate deadly attacks on civilians are especially horrible.
We need to realize the true nature of the enemies of mankind.
