Not too long ago, taking professional photos required having a serious budget and knowledge base. Digital technology is changing that, and camera legend Nikon is helping out with the D3000. The 10.2-megapixel DSLR is the perfect entry-level camera for those who want something more powerful than a simple point-and-shoot. The transition to a high-end camera comes easy with the smart scene modes, which make shooting in any situation easier. Once you’re ready to take it to the next level, the D3000 features full manual control over ISO, shutter speed, white balance, and much more. Like other Nikon DSLRs, the D3000 also shoots in the universal JPEG and uncompressed RAW formats. If you really want to go all out, the Nikon F bayonet mount supports an insane number of lenses from both first- and third-party manufacturers.
