A forecast of rain? Ho-hum. Sleet? We may shiver. But if there is even a hint of “snow” in our area, don’t most of us really get excited?
Kids, of course, think of snowmen and snowballs,a and maybe getting out of school for a day if the snow hint comes in mid-week. But people of all ages pay attention when there is a forecast that snow may whiten at least the “elevations” in our area.
Snow can be fun for some, inconvenience for others, traffic danger for many, and painful privation for unfortunate ones.
Well, our winter is “young,” and the mention of “snow” has gotten our attention.
