We have laws in our country and in our states to allow the legal immigration of some people from foreign countries — and we have laws against illegal invasion. It is disgusting how poorly we are enforcing our laws.
Nobody knows how many people have come into the United States in violation of our laws. Estimates range from 11 million to 20 million!
Obviously, enforcement of our laws is inadequate, with intolerable conflicts between federal and state enforcement, which should be cooperative.
President Barack Obama has been dilatory concerning the illegal invasion. He has blamed Republicans. They blame the president and other Democrats.
All Americans, regardless of party, should welcome legal immigrants and enforce our laws to stem the huge tide of illegals.
That is something on which all Americans should agree — and act effectively.
