Dade shuts down gambling operation

Investigators with the Dade County Sheriff’s Department have shut down a gambling operation run out of a barbecue restaurant in Wildwood, Ga.

Deputies found 11 video gambling machines in Pappy’s Barbeque on state Highway 299. Deputies arrested the restaurant’s owner, Louis “Pappy” Daniel Dodson, on Tuesday night after an undercover agent played a video poker machine and collected cash winnings from Mr. Dodson earlier that day.

Mr. Dodson was charged with commercial gambling, keeping a gambling establishment, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond has been set at $5,000.
