Fundraiser features barbecue, gospel

Barbecue and gospel music will be served up Saturday in a benefit for an 11-year-old girl with serious medical needs.

Hannah Rodgers, daughter of Jason and Kendra Rodgers, suffers from minimal change disease, which affects her kidney function, according to event organizers.

The Hullender Family, Randa Jordan & Family and Heritage Quartet will present the concert at Nellie Head Memorial Baptist Church, 2379 Catoosa Parkway (Georgia Highway 2A) in Tunnel Hill.

“This benefit is to help offset some of the medical costs incurred during Hannah’s numerous hospital stays since March 12,” said singer Jeff Hullender.

The evening will begin with a barbecue supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per plate.

The singing will follow at 7 p.m.

Modern Woodmen of America will match funds raised, up to $2,500.
