TRENTON, Ga. – The director of a telephone lineman school has been chosen by the Dade County school board to fill a board vacancy.
David Powell, director of the Southeast Lineman Training Center in Rising Fawn, will serve the remaining two years of the term left when David Swader stepped down from his at-large post last month.
Nine people applied, ranging from a former school board member to a Dade County pastor. On Monday evening, several came with their supporters to the school board meeting, crowding the room.
