Saturday night the Chattanooga police arrived at a familiar scene in regards to recent teen violence. Coolidge Park was featuring an event called “Movies in the Park” when two juveniles were reportedly causing a disturbance.
Chattanooga police Sgt. Adrian Gibb said the juveniles had been asked to stop two or three times when they were eventually told to leave the park.
“It’s a family event and they were being a disturbance, he said.
“When they were told to leave they apparently didn’t want to. They left and are now on their way to a juvenile facility.” said Sgt. Gibb.
He confirmed that there were no punches thrown and that there were no other disturbances other than this isolated incident. Sgt. Gibb also confirmed that this was nothing like the shooting of a few months ago that occurred in Coolidge Park.
“This wasn’t a flash mob,” Sgt. Gibb said. “This was two juveniles that didn’t want to leave and both left. It was handled safely and with no problems.”
