The Georgia Department of Labor has named Shaw Industries as its 2009 employer of the year, based on Shaw’s support for veterans, the company said in a news release.
Shaw was recognized for hiring 86 veterans as full-time employees to work within Bartow and Paulding counties, and Shaw’s Plant 15 was separately recognized by the U.S. Army as part of its Freedom Team Salute program.
Paul Richard, vice president of human resources, said the recognition was a testament to the quality and dedication of Shaw employees, and their support for the troops.
