After a decade of renovation and the shuffling of county offices, the extensive work to the Hamilton County Courthouse is winding down.
Todd Leamon, the county engineer who has overseen the work, said phase three will be complete by January 2011 and some of the county’s vital offices will move back into the building soon after that. The three phases cost about $2.6 million each, he said.
“It started probably around 2001,” Mr. Leamon said. “We started with the exterior of the building, weatherproofed the building, did security upgrades (and) electrical improvements in several phases over the last eight to 10 years.”
