Chattanooga: Sentencing for Maynor pushed back to July

The sentencing hearing for Keele Maynor, the city worker who admitted to faking breast cancer, has been pushed back to July.

This is the second time her sentencing has been delayed.

She was scheduled to be sentenced Monday, but her new sentencing hearing is set for July 26. Court officials say they are still trying to work out restitution issues, including how much she owes and to whom.

Ms. Maynor faces a maximum of six years in prison under a plea agreement with Hamilton County prosecutors.

She pleaded guilty March 9 to eight felony counts of theft of services ranging from $500 to $60,000. Authorities said Ms. Maynor lied about having breast cancer for five years while she was working as a city administrative assistant in order to receive paid time off and other gifts.

She originally was set for sentencing in May but prosecutors asked to change the date because some witnesses scheduled to testify could not attend.
