LOOKOUT VALLEY: Two local eateries join up for Riverbend

Celebrate Recovery will meet on tonight at Lookout Valley Baptist Church beginning at 6 p.m.

Murphy Eller of Murphy’s Eatz and Sweetz and Tyler Gray of Mr. T’s Pizza will have a concession stand named “Fat Boyz Concessions” at Riverbend from June 11-19. They will have Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, Buffalo wings, onion rings, banana pudding and deep-fried Moonpies. They will also have bottled water and soft drinks.

The city’s Traffic Engineering Division combined resources with the Parks and Recreation Department and the Chattanooga Police Department to establish a city-sponsored driver’s education program for city residents between the ages of 15-18.

Hamans New Drivers has contracted with the city to provide its basic five-week defensive driving course to eligible city residents for $350. Upon application, the student/parent(s) pay a $50 non-refundable enrollment fee. Once the student has successfully completed the course, the city pays the $300 balance directly to the driving school.

There is a course currently available at John A. Patten Recreation Center running Monday through Friday, July 12-July 23, from 1-4 p.m. Space is limited.

For more information and a copy of the application for the course, visit www.chattanooga.gov/Public_Works/70_Driversed.htm.
