SUMMERVILLE, Ga. – State Rep. Barbara Reece, of Menlo, is being investigated by the state for possible violations of campaign laws.
The six-term Democratic lawmaker, whose district includes Chattooga County and a portion of Floyd County, is alleged to have assisted voters in filling out their absentee campaign ballots without signing a required oath that is printed on the ballot.
Rep. Reece also is alleged to have possessed an elector’s ballot outside the polling place and to have provided assistance filling out an absentee ballot to an elector who did not need the assistance.
