JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – An East Tennessee jury has resumed deliberations in the murder case against Howard Hawk Willis, who is accused of killing a young Georgia couple.
WJHL-TV reported jurors told Judge Jon Kerry Blackwood they had a restful day off on Sunday before picking up deliberations again Monday morning in Jonesborough.
Willis is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of teenagers Adam Chrismer and Samantha Leming Chrismer of Chickamauga, Ga. Their bodies were found in a Johnson City storage unit after Adam Chrismer’s head was found in a park lake and his hands were discovered nearby.
Willis chose not to testify on his own behalf, but in closing arguments said there was no evidence tying him to the murder weapon.
The jury began deliberating the case on Saturday.
