Chattanooga: Police investigating 3 unrelated robberies

Chattanooga police are investigating three unrelated residential and business robberies that occurred over the past few days.

On Tuesday, 10 residents of a 13th Avenue home were bound and robbed by two black male suspects armed with pistols, said Sgt. Jerri Weary, a Chattanooga Police Department spokeswoman.

Three of the victims, including an 11-year-old child, were “pistol whipped” during the robbery, Sgt. Weary said, and each was treated and released from a local hospital.

Officers responding to the call saw two suspects run from the home and were able to track down one in a vacant residence a few doors from the crime scene using a K-9 unit.

Fredrick Anderson was charged with aggravated burglary, three counts of especially aggravated robbery, three counts of aggravated robbery and four counts of aggravated assault, Sgt. Weary said. Police are still looking for the second suspect.

On Wednesday morning, Tremont Street resident Warren Smith told police a black male suspect entered his home and demanded money, Sgt. Weary said. When the suspect did not get any money, he fled the home and Mr. Smith chased after him, she said.

Mr. Smith told police the suspect fired at him and, once Mr. Smith was outside, he saw two more suspects, one of whom also shot at him. Mr. Smith was not injured in the incident, Sgt. Weary said.

The suspects are described as three black males wearing white T-shirts with bandanas over their faces.

Also Wednesday, the Moore & King Pharmacy at 4515 Brainerd Road was robbed just after 9 a.m. when a white male entered the store, brandishing a handgun while demanding money and Oxycodone, Sgt. Weary said. Store employees gave the man the medication and $200 in cash, she said.

Sgt. Weary said surveillance video showed the suspect, who fled the pharmacy heading west on Brainerd Road. No one was hurt during the incident, she said.

No arrests have been made in the case, she said.
