Historic home being moved from Trenton to Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. – A historic home in Trenton, Tenn., is being moved to Casey Jones Village in Jackson this summer.

The Neil House, built in 1837, is to be moved the 30 miles with the trip expected to be done in July.

According to a news release from Casey Jones Village, the First Presbyterian Church in Trenton needed it relocated for an upcoming church expansion.

After restoration to its antebellum look, the home is expected to be open to the public next spring at the Casey Jones Village near Interstate 40.

During the Civil War, citizens gathered on the home’s roof to watch the fighting.
