Performances of “Imagine,” the 13th annual dance concert by the Berry College Dance Troupe, continue tonight and Saturday at City Auditorium, 601 Broad St., in Rome, Ga.
The concert will feature choreography by Berry students and dance specialist Jeanne Schul. Many styles of dance will be showcased, including Latin ballroom, modern, lyrical, jazz, Broadway style jazz, contemporary and contemporary theater.
Audience members are meant to “imagine” themselves in the emotional states and situations being explored by the performers.
“Through the magic of music and dance, the performance brings to life such sensations as being heavily burdened, worshiping with purpose and having victory in one’s personal life,” according to producers.
Two Berry faculty members, Dr. John Davis on flute and Dr. Kris Carlisle on piano, will provide live accompaniment for one of the dances.
Performances start at 8 p.m. today and at 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $7. Call 706-236-2263 for more information.
