Members of the North Brainerd Community Council met this morning in hopes of talking with the owner of a gas station that has been the scene of two killings in the last two months.
They were disappointed. Shankao Chaudari, owner of the Kanku’s on Wilcox Boulevard, wasn’t present. Mr. Chaudari said in a telephone interview this morning that no one had contacted him about the meeting.
Council members decided to send a letter to local government officials and the owner seeking another meeting.
“I think the community as a whole needs to come together to solve this problem,” said council member Gloria McClendon.
