Making connections

A woman raised her hand and asked the police captain, “How do we do something about houses where drugs are being sold?”

As she explained the problem in her Eastdale neighborhood, the captain pulled out a business card, leaned forward and passed it to her.

“Call this number and give me an address,” Chattanooga police Capt. Randy Dunn said.

The woman, who asked that her name not be used because of safety concerns, asked her question at a district connect meeting Thursday night.

Capt. Dunn heads police in the Eastdale and Brainerd areas. He and City Councilman Randy Gilbert listened to concerns from 18 residents of council Districts 5 and 6 who attended the monthly meeting at the Brainerd Road district connect office.
