Gearing up for the Volkswagen assembly plant, Hamilton County commissioners today accepted three construction bids.
One of the projects will expand two railroad bridges over Bonny Oaks Drive to allow a high volume of the newly manufactured automobiles to be shipped around the country.
The other two involve a railyard and preparation work for new rail lines.
Volkswagen is expected to hire about 2,000 total workers but several commissioners estimated that at least 8,000 other jobs will result from different suppliers moving into town.
