Sensible people surely are amazed that some of our people endanger themselves and others, and break the law, by the illegal manufacture, sale and use of various drugs.
Most people fortunately have had no experience with methamphetamine, for example. But meth is a terrible substance that some people insist on making. In “cooking” the drug ingredients, they may cause dangerous contamination of the house or room or other surroundings where they operate.
There was a report this week that Chattanooga police found a house on 19th Street contaminated by extensive waste from meth-making. They hauled away 15 bags of 50-gallon size containing solid “meth trash,” plus 71 big bags of toxic liquids.
When a house where meth is made illegally is so contaminated that cleanup efforts are very difficult, just consider the terrible damage that may be done to the people who are foolish enough to use meth.
Some people make meth for money. But why would anyone use it self-destructively? Yet too many do.
