Now, watch for bad results!

President Barack Obama unfortunately has prevailed in getting his Democrat majorities in both houses of Congress to enact ObamaCare.

It’s a monstrous bill that very few — if any — people really fully understand, so far. But it surely threatens another trillion-dollar-plus burden on the American people.

It expands socialized medicine.

It involves one-sixth of our nation’s whole economy.

It will directly affect virtually every American, not beneficially.

All U.S. senators from our tri-state area opposed it. Tennessee’s Sen. Bob Corker and Sen. Lamar Alexander voted against it. Georgia’s Sen. Saxby Chambliss voted against it. His colleague, Sen. Johnny Isakson, was hospitalized and thus could not vote, but opposed it. Alabama’s Sen. Jeff Sessions and Sen. Richard Shelby voted against it.

Reliable public opinion polls showed a majority of Americans opposed it.

In Tennessee, the respected Rasmussen poll indicated 65 percent of Tennesseans polled opposed it — and 57 percent favor suing to invalidate ObamaCare on grounds that it is unconstitutional.

One of the many bad elements of ObamaCare is the demand that Americans buy medical insurance, starting in 2014 — or be fined if they don’t. When before have you ever heard of the federal government forcing our citizens to buy anything — or be fined?

Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue said he will appoint a special attorney general to file suit against ObamaCare on grounds that it is unconstitutional. At least 14 other states also have indicated they will sue.

This terribly revolutionary and expensive bill will surely be a major issue in many Senate and House of Representatives elections this fall. Some Democrats who supported it may not be re-elected. Republicans in Congress have vowed they will try to elect enough Republicans to repeal ObamaCare. President Obama has responded, “I welcome that fight.”

But now that ObamaCare has been enacted, repeal or getting a court ruling against it will be an uphill battle.

Will President Obama be re-elected? He shouldn’t be. But many of the worst effects of ObamaCare are not scheduled to take effect until after his current term expires. So even if President Obama is defeated, if ObamaCare is not repealed or overturned in court, many terribly bad effects will linger on.
