Chattanooga police are looking for the man responsible for robbing Books-A-Million on Gunbarrel Road on Tuesday.
A store sales clerk told police that a black male walked up to the counter of the store about 9:45 p.m. and purchased a piece of candy, then demanded money from the register, said Lt. Kim Noorbergen, a Chattanooga Police Department spokeswoman.
When the sales clerk refused to give the man the money, the suspect threatened to shoot her with a black revolver handgun, Lt. Noorbergen said. The clerk described the suspect as a 30- to 40-year-old black male, about 5-foot-6, wearing a white ball cap, sun glasses, brown shirt and dark pants that were bleached at the bottom.
Police are encouraging anyone with information regarding this crime to call 698-2525.
