* What: Artisan candles, bath and body products

* Company: Everyday Eclectic

* Address: Chattanooga/Hamilton County Business Development Center, 100 Cherokee Blvd., Suite 326

* Website: www.everydayeclectic.com

* Telephone: 521-0326.

* Owners: Tiffany and Matthew Rogers

* What’s special: All products are made from scratch in small batches using plant-based ingredients without artificial preservatives, and the fragrances all are infused with essential oils.

* The origin story: Mrs. Rogers became interested in crafting through her grandmother. The family of Mr. Rogers’ father made their own soap, which caught his interest. Between the two, they developed all their recipes.

* How long does it take to make: As little as a half hour for some items, to two hours for candles

* Where it’s sold: At the Chattanooga Market, the Old Mill General Store (110 Gordon St., Chickamauga, Ga.) and Ed’s Flower Bank (4858 Main St., Jasper, Tenn.). Also online

* How long have they been making them: In October 2007, the Rogers began selling on their website while working out of their basement. They moved into the Small Business Center last July when sales outgrew their cottage industry.

* Future expansions planned: They would like to expand to more retail locations and into custom lines. Mrs. Rogers said she would like eventually to move into a studio with a storefront.

* Lessons of the trade: “Never shortcut on your own product,” Mrs. Rogers said. “Make sure you’re making things to the best quality you possibly can with the best ingredients. Always put out a good product so that, no matter what, you can be proud of it and people will take notice.”
