COLUMBUS, Ga. — An early goal stood up for the Southeast Whitfield boys’ soccer team Friday, as the Raiders advanced to the Georgia Class AAA semifinals with a 1-0 victory over Columbus High at Columbus State University.
Alex Rosillio scored a first-half goal off an assist from Sammy Torres, and Raiders coach Jamison Griffin lauded a strong defensive effort headed by eight saves from keeper Cesar Maldonado. Southeast, which improved to 17-4 for the season, will host the Gainesville-Perry winner Tuesday.
