CENTRE, Ala. – Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver says a 3-year-old reported missing was found unharmed, but the mother has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
The sheriff’s office received the report of the missing child Wednesday, and a search began around the child’s home.
The sheriff says two fishermen from Rainsville discovered the child at the edge of Weiss Lake and called 911. Emergency workers returned the child to her residence.
Shaver says an investigation led to the arrest of the child’s mother, Amanda Hudgins Lawson.
