How many people ever come face to face with a jaguar at night?
Chattanoogans will have that chance, albeit with glass in between, on Saturday at the Friends of the Zoo’s sixth annual Spirits in the Wild benefit for the Chattanooga Zoo.
“It’s an opportunity to come and enjoy the zoo at night,” said Ashley Lattier, the zoo’s development director.
Guests will enjoy food from 10 vendors such as the DoubleTree Hotel, 212 Market and the Walden Club, sample wines from Athens Distributing Co., dance or listen to the contemporary rock Peter Moon Band, and watch active animals, she said.
That group may include most of the zoo’s menagerie, Lattier said, having heard from a friend who attended a recent evening event at the zoo that they all seemed to be out.
