We spotted a disturbing passage in a recent article by The Associated Press.
It said that since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, “146 American Muslims have been publicly accused of planning or carrying out extremist violence … . The largest number of cases occurred in 2009, with a total of 41 suspects.”
It would be nice if we could just “wish away” terrorism. But judging from the numbers above, the terrorists have no intention of letting up.
Think about it: Almost one-third of the terrorism cases cited by the AP in the past eight and a half years since 9/11 took place last year alone.
So do you think the terrorists seem more eager or less eager to do us harm? Do you think they will “back off” because of the Obama administration’s suggestion that we call terrorism “man-caused disasters” instead? Do you think they are impressed by the administration’s removal of references to Islamic radicalism from the very document that guides our country’s national security policy?
Wouldn’t it be wiser to acknowledge the nature of the radical Muslim terrorist threat that we face and attack it every bit as forcefully as the terrorists are determined to attack us?
