Singer Kenny Evans, a regular at theaters in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., for more than 10 years, will be featured Saturday in a Love Loud event at Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Ringgold, Ga.
Evans, who has a 41/2-octave vocal range, pursued a career in country music for six years starting in 1994. He released his debut album, “When You Love Somebody,” in 1998 and opened for Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Billy Ray Cyrus and Charlie Daniels, among others.
He became a full-time evangelist in March 2000 after a near-fatal accident caused him to re-evaluate his life.
In addition to events where he preaches and sings, Evans is part of the morning entertainment at the Country Tonite Theatre and headlines a show at the American Oldies Theatre, both in Pigeon Forge.
The Love Loud event starts at 11 a.m., with barbecue. Free activities, including haircuts, health checks, financial counseling and crafts, will follow at 3 p.m. Evans’ free concert of ’50s music will start at 6 p.m. He will present a gospel concert during the church’s 10:50 a.m. service Sunday.
Cedar Hill Baptist is at 60 Dyer Bridge Road, one mile east of Walmart off Battlefield Parkway. For more information, call 706-858-0976 or e-mail pastor@cedarhillbaptist.com.
