DALTON, Ga. – Breann Ledford, a graduating senior at Murray County High School, said she had a practical reason for taking part in a women’s self-defense class offered through the Dalton Police Department.
“I’m headed off to college in the fall. I want to be prepared just in case anything were to happen,” Miss Ledford said.
The 12-hour class takes place over four nights and is led by Officer Brian Pack. There’s some classroom instruction and hands-on practice in escape, evasion and self-protection.
