Tennessee House District 28 Rep. Tommie Brown easily won re-election Tuesday, holding onto her seat for a 10th term.
Democrat Brown, 76, defeated her Republican challenger, Teresa Wood, 49, with with more than 70 percent of the vote.
Brown was first elected in 1992 and said she has a special bond with her constituents. She said most of the legislation she’s introduced has come from meetings with voters.
“I have a trust relationship with the people, and I entered that relationship with them in 1992 and we have reaffirmed what I call my covenant with them each election cycle,” Brown said.
