Haslam names transition team

Governor-elect Bill Haslam has announced his transition team.

Tom Ingram, his general campaign consultant, will direct Haslam’s transition into office, according to a press release, and campaign finance director Kim Kaegi will plan the inaugural celebration when Haslam is sworn in Jan. 15.

Ingram will be assisted by Haslam campaign manager Mark Kate and Lewis Lavine, who is currently president of the Center for Nonprofit Management in Nashville.

In the release, Ingram said he will not name formal transition committees.

“Tom Ingram has been an invaluable adviser to me and the campaign from the beginning, and I’m thankful for his guidance during the last two years,” Haslam said in the press release. “Building a team is perhaps the most important thing a governor does, and Tom’s experience in Tennessee politics and government makes him the obvious to choice to lead this transition.”
