Harrison house ‘total loss’ after fire

Officials say strong winds pushed fire quickly through a house in the Harrison area today.

No injuries were reported at the fire at 10489 Highway 58, said Amy Maxwell, a spokeswoman for Hamilton County Emergency Services. She said the house was a “total loss.”

Firefighters were able to save a two-car garage that was separated by a breezeway, Maxwell said.

The homeowner called 911 at 1:10 p.m., officials said.

When the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department arrived six minutes later, a fourth of the house was “fully involved with fire and heavy smoke coming from all the eaves of the house,” Maxwell asid.
