Don’t fall for trick of selling TVA
The article, “TVA sales urged to fund green projects,” hidden in the Business section of the Chattanooga Times Free Press on Nov. 19, should be an eye opener to all Tennessee residents.
Reed Hundt, head of Coalition for Green Energy, wants to sell TVA to a private enterprise to fund a “private nonprofit Energy Independence Trust to lend money for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.”
TVA provides energy at the lowest possible cost to all of the Tennessee Valley. Other utilities would love to be able to provide power to their customers at the same rate as TVA.
The Coalition for Green Energy has teamed up with the Center for American Progress, a socialist organization funded by George Soros. Who does Reed Hundt recommend to buy TVA, Communist China or perhaps George Soros himself?
My suggestion to Reed Hundt is to sell his “snake oil” to some other country such as Greece or France. We as Americans, simply aren’t falling for his tricks.

Senators back more intrusion
Once again the government is attempting to take control over our lives with massive legislation in Senate Bill 510.
This bill is being pushed by our two conservative Tennessee senators, Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander.
This bill is nothing more that ObamaCare for agriculture. SB510 puts all U.S. food production under the control of the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense.
We lose not only private-citizen control of our food supply, but sovereignty as well. The bill sets in motion standardization of the food animal supply chain, focusing on eliminating biodiversity in food animal genetic stocks.
It further mandates that the federal government control and empower hormonal, genetic and antibiotic additions to our food supply while postponing most definitions of what will constitute “food crimes” under the bill’s sweeping and generalized powers.
Our senators like to tout how they represent our values of government staying out of lives but they are two men who constantly vote for more government control and spending.
They are saying some bureaucrat knows what we should eat more than ourselves. They will probably X-ray us as we go into the grocery store and then pat us down as we leave.
