Tigers for Tomorrow, a nonprofit exotic and native animal preserve in Attalla, Ala., is offering guided environmental education tours at deep discounts during Thanksgiving weekend.

Tours will begin at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. CST today, Saturday and Sunday for $10 adults and $5 for children 3-11, the normal cost of a walk-about through the preserve. Cost for guided tours is normally a $25 per person donation. The tours take about 90 minutes and go over the facility’s mission, animal instincts and behaviors. Reservations are not required.

Tigers for Tomorrow is home to more than 130 animals previously housed in private homes, roadside zoos, circuses and other facilities where they were not properly cared for. The center relies on donations, grants and admissions for funding.

In addition to tours, other activities will be offered both today and Saturday.

* Today: Tigers for Tomorrow is requesting donations of Thanksgiving turkeys to be handed out as part of the normal feed run. Visitors may choose which animal gets to eat the proffered turkey.

* Saturday: Mohr 4 will perform Celtic music from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. The winner of the Battle of the Lions vs. Tigers will be announced at 2 p.m. Giant jungle balls will be given to lioness Angel and tigress Annabelle during the 2 p.m. tour.
