The Chattanooga Police Department and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office are looking for the same man in connection with an Aug. 15 beating.
Akeem Olajuwon O’Neal, aka “Pluck,” was riding in his girlfriend’s car in the 5300 block of Highway 58 when they began to argue, police said.
He hit her in the mouth with his fist, drawing blood, police said.
The two then stopped at the Mapco at 8604 N. Hickory Valley Road, which is outside the city limits, and he slammed her against a wall inside, police said.
He began trying to carry her out of the store, but a customer intervened. Then O’Neal ran out and drove away in his girlfriend’s car, police said.
He is wanted on two counts of assault, aggravated kidnapping and theft of property.
He also is wanted for failure to appear on a separate assault charge, police said.
O’Neal, 27, is 6 feet tall and 230 pounds. His last known address is 2522 Sixth Ave. in East Lake Courts, but he also frequents the Highway 58 area, police said.
Anyone who leads police to O’Neal could be eligible for a $1,000 cash reward. Call 423-698-3333.
