Signal Mountain’s quarterback is grateful, the Eagles’ running backs are grateful and head coach Bill Price is happy.
To accomplish all three, especially keeping the taskmaster of a coach smiling, is no small feat for a group of undersized chunks who like blocking more than postgame snack platters.
“Our offensive line doesn’t get a lot of credit, but they deserve it,” Price said. “We’ve thrown the ball successfully and we have also run the ball fairly well, and those guys are a big reason.”
Those guys are senior tackle Shea Baker, junior tackle Austin Pressley, junior guards Sam Wright and Logan Stevens and junior center John Evans.
“We’ve got quick feet. We move quick,” Baker responded when asked about the line’s strength. “We’re not very big but we can move pretty well.”
