Kohl’s plans to hire more than 40,000 sales people for the holiday season, a more than 20 percent increase over last year, the department store said. Kohl’s has stores in Chattanooga and Cleveland, Tenn.
Kohl’s anticipates hiring an average of 35 seasonal staffers per store. It also foresees hiring for its distribution centers and credit operations.
In 2009 Kohl’s hired an average of 30 holiday employees per store.
