Building on the success of Chattanooga’s Great Date Night, which drew 2,000 people to the Chattanooga Convention Center this past week, First Things First and Chick-fil-A will try to prolong the magic with four more Great Date Nights — these at participating Chick-fil-A restaurants.
Each date night comes with a different menu of activities for couples to experience, including The Couple Checkup (an online resource valued at $29.95) to assess their relationship. Each store will provide a romantic setting for couples, complete with candles and tablecloths. Door prizes will be awarded.
Date nights will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. the next four Mondays. The themes are:
* Monday: “Love Connects Us,” keys to positive, meaningful and fun conversation.
* Oct. 18: “Love Manages Money,” a look at attitudes toward finances.
* Oct. 25: “Love the Differences,” celebrating individuality as a couple.
* Nov. 1: “Love Keeps on Dating,” with tips on how to connect with future dates.
“It takes about 21 days to develop a new habit,” said Julie Baumgardner, president and executive director of First Things First, a nonprofit advocacy organization for families. “We hope that in five weeks’ time, more couples in our community will make dating each other a part of their regular routine.”
