CLEVELAND, Tenn. — About $2,500 in cigarettes were stolen earlier this month from a CVS Pharmacy, police said today.
Fifty-six cartons of Marlboro cigarettes, worth $2,496, were stolen from the CVS pharmacy on Stuart Road about 8 p.m. on Oct. 6., the Cleveland Police Department announced.
Police are offering a cash reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the white female and two white male suspects.
The female asked for assistance in order to distract employees while the male subjects got behind the counter and stole the cigarettes, Cleveland Police spokeswoman Evie West said in a news release.
A store employee saw the suspects running from behind the counter and saw them get into an older hunter green mini van, West said. The thieves drove backwards to avoid the tag being seen, she said.
The theft was recorded by the store’s surveillance system, police said.
Information about the crime can be given Detective Matt Jenkins at 423-303-3134.
