A 9-year-old was injured when she rode her bike into the path of a car Sunday evening, according to East Ridge police.
Police spokesman Erik Hopkins said in a news release that the girl rode out in front of Christina Hart, 34, of East Ridge, who was driving on Madonna Avenue.
Hopkins said the girl was taken to T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
He said Hart was not speeding and could not have avoided the accident, so no charges are expected.
